For
today’s art activity, we experimented with “pointillism”.
** Pointillism
is the painting technique that uses a number of small coloured dots or points,
that, when viewed from afar, form an image or picture. One famous painter who
used pointillism in some of his paintings was Vincent Van Gogh. In order to
find inspiration for today’s activity, we looked at some of Van Gogh’s work.
The
children showed an understanding that this technique requires a lot of time and
patience.
